Truckhaven CORVA 2022

Q1 2022

Q1 has come and gone! I can’t believe Christmas was four months ago! It seems like it was just yesterday. And yet here at Wheeled, we did ALL THE THINGS!

‘Q1’ Sounds almost too ‘business sterile’ to be a Wheeled Lyfe Off-Road blog post title! And even more so, the title cannot contain all the exciting activities we embarked upon during the first four months of 2022!

I wanted to write about each one of these special events individually, but somehow this works just as nicely.

Truckhaven 2022 Corva

CORVA Truckhaven 2022 – Jan 22, 2022

Nestled nicely between the western mountains and the Salton Sea lays the Truckhaven 4×4 training center in the Ocotillo Wells SVRA. The training area was created in partnership with CA OHV and Tierra Del Sol 4×4 club. This particular event run by CORVA was a poker run supporting their efforts. We got up early to drive out for the day and when we arrived were met by severe winds and a great crew of fun and like minded people. We met up with Skull Hunter 4×4. Diego and his family are wonderful people and great wheelers. They are creating an accessory business who support wheelers find products for their rigs. Be sure to check them out. https://www.skullhunter4x4.com/ You can also support his Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/skullhunter4x4/ . We may have gotten turned around a few times but that was half the fun and getting to wheel with Diego and his family was really exciting. BTW, did I mention the wind!

King of the Hammers 2022 – Jan 30-Feb 5, 2022

For KOH 2022, Mr. Wheeled set out without Mrs. Wheeled for Johnson Valley following Chad Douglas of SnakeTrap_JK on Instagram as he lead the way. It was my first time attending KOH and also my first time in Johnson Valley. It was late when we arrived but the temporary city in the desert was bustling with activity. We setup camp and for the next few days connected with great friends, amazing wheeling, and enjoyed the races. Meeting up AND wheeling with Dave of JK_Switchback, Victor of VictorVectorJKU, & Mac and Alicia of Littlebit of Fourplay was such a great experience. As well as hanging out with Kyle of Sundance_67. Along the way we also were able to meet some of the faces behind incredible brands like Rugged Radios, Nitto Tire, Pro Eagle, and a ton more. It was a cold week but I can’t wait to go back next year and this time bring along Noel. I mean Mrs. Wheeled. Next time we will be prepared with heated socks and jackets, along with OUR JEEP!

Our Big Move!

Amongst the busyness of our jobs, kids, side businesses AND Wheeled; We moved! It took everything we had in us. But we got it done! The kids and Noel and I are already reaping the benefits of the move. We can’t wait to share more on IG as we continue to settle in and create our Wheeled Studio right from our garage.

Wheeled Weekend 2022 – March 11-13, 2022

We had been planning Wheeled Weekend 22 for several months and had a great time. We camped in Ocotillo Wells at Holmes Camp and enjoyed the camping lyfe, wheeling the hills, and Mrs. Wheeled’s incredible food! At one point my parents were following us out to Truckhaven training area when the sand got super soft and deep. Their 2 wheel drive truck got stuck and it took us a while to pull them out, but it was such a great experience. We can’t wait to do it again next year! And we hope you join us. Stay tuned for date and location info!
