Ahh yes, the great debate of the offroading world: what exactly is the proper spelling for this type of terrain exploration? Is it Off Road, Offroad, or Off-Road? We’ve seen all three variations used in publications and online forums throughout the years – so which one is it? Should we officially call it? Each version has some merit to its justification however, grammatically “off-road” is most correct. Although, each version is okay to use. In this blog post let’s finally settle this matter definitively by exploring each point in detail and giving a fun opinion on how we ‘really’ spell our beloved PASSION!
Well Without Further Ado! What we have found is that most people use the term “Off Road” while searching according to Google Trends data.
We have found the same data in conjunction with other keywords, like Off Road Apparel, Off Road Clothing, and Off Road Supplies!
We recommend using off road with the space and no hyphen and with NO space when using the word “Offroading”. However, when typing grammatically, we believe the hyphenated version is most correct, however, who has time for that pesky hyphen??
So there you have it! The question is finalized. The only problem now, is that we created our name using “Off-Road” WITH the hyphen! SO do we change it? We personally like the hyphenated version! However, we changed many of our keywords on the site to match these searching trends.
